My Plan of Attack......

Today I will be starting P90X. Wish me luck. I've decided to do the "Doubles" program. That means 3 days a week, i'll be doing cardio in the morning and then working out in the evening. On my non-cardio days, i'm going to do the c25k running program.

Since i'm being totally honest here, I'm starting out this journey at 148lbs (EEK!) and hoping to get to 125lbs.  148 might not seem like a lot but at just barely 5'4 it is to me. I'm tired of looking like I'm 3mo pregnant when my youngest is 2.5yrs old.

Wish me luck!

I'm not a runner.

Yep, that's right. I'm not a runner. At all. Seriously. I couldn't even run to the mailbox (about 30ft) and back without huffing and puffing. If someone were going to chase me and steal my pants, i'd just let them have my pants. Forget running. Like I said, I'm not a runner.

I got this idea planted in my head to run a half-marathon. Yeah, a total non-runner wanting to run a half-marathon. Not sure what I was thinking but now that i've decided i'm going to do it, I'll be damned if I don't accomplish it. I decided to run the Disney Princess Half-Marathon in Feb 2012. I can do this. I WILL DO THIS!

I've recruited a few friends to run with me. Well, actually I TOLD a few friends they were running with me. LOL.

My plan is to do the c25k program (http://c25k.com/) to get me started and then follow it up with a 12 week half-marathon training schedule. By the time i'm done, i'll be a runner! I can't wait!

This blog is going to serve as my log, a way to keep me accountable, and a way for friends and family to keep up with my training and final accomplishment of being able to Run Like a Princess.

My reasons for wanting to do this:
1- to get in shape and lose 20lbs
2- to prove to my husband that I can do it (not that he doubts me but he did kind of chuckle at the idea when I mentioned it. ;-) )
3- to show my kids that you can do anything you put your mind to
4- to be able to tell people "I'm a Runner"
